Video’s popularity has seen some serious growth over the last several years, and this trend continues to rise. Cisco, for example, estimates that by 2021, 80% of all internet traffic will be video. That means a lot more cat, how-to’s and prank videos have yet to be uploaded to YouTube. Explainer videos are also surging in popularity, with more businesses turning to them to replace text-heavy web pages. For many, explainer videos have become a must-have and have brought thrilling results.
Recently, an explainer video we produced for Athena Software – a Canadian software company – had such an impact on their business that they published their story online. They added the video to their website and shared it via email, social media, and Hubspot – a marketing automation tool – and saw some exciting results: an open rate of 23.4% and a click-through rate of 12.5%, compared to their typical rates between 1.5% and 3.5%.
